I was in germany a while back like 5yrs ago and i had a sweet italian red at a friends home i can't remember the name we would have it on girls night in. it was great by its self not to sweet now i can't find a sweet italian red to save my life any recommendations thanks. oh no Lambrusco that's not it.
Italians aren't really known for making "sweet" red wines.
The closest things I can think of are Banfi Rosa Regale. A lightly sparkling sweeter wine that pairs especially well with tomato based dishes.
Beaujolais Nouveau. I know that you said Italian, but a BN can be fruitier and 'sweeter'.

What wine would you recommend with italian food? I am new to wine tasting and flavors. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Red wine for red sauces and red meats, White for white sauces and white meats.
For most pasta, Table wines compliment very well if you are looking for more specific type I would use Cabernet.
I drank a few bottles of a really good wine a few years ago and now I can't remember the name of it. I remember it was a very sweet wine, Italian (almost sure), started with the letter c, had a low alcohol content (about 14%) and it cost about $15/bottle.
I wanted to get a bottle for a gift for a friend and now I can't remember the name and it's bugging me to death.
Could you throw out a few brands please??
It's called CANEI. It's an italian kind of wine ^__^
